Legacy Family Looks to Marlborough’s Future

Hill family

There’s a feeling Jaclyn Tilley Hill gets when she walks onto Marlborough School’s campus. “It’s an electricity,” she says. “You can feel it in the atmosphere and see it in the faces of the students. The lights are bright at Marlborough. ”

Jaclyn and her husband, Randy, were fixtures at Marlborough in the 1980s, when their four daughters (pictured below right) attended the school. The Hills’ daughters had diverse interests and passions; Marlborough nurtured each of them. “Marlborough is really focused on the development of the individual without restrictions or confinements,” she says. “Our daughters were launched at Marlborough.”

Over the years, Jaclyn has seen how Marlborough students grow up to be engaged citizens of the world. “Needless to say, these are driven women,” she says. “They understand that as individuals who have been given so much, their responsibility is to find where they can give back.”

Giving back is something that Jaclyn herself has modeled for her children. Recently, Jaclyn and Randy made a generous bequest gift to Marlborough’s general endowment fund in recognition of the school’s positive impact on their family. “We’re so supportive of Marlborough and the opportunities it affords the girls who attend the school,” Jaclyn explains. “Dr. Sands is clearly the right leader at the right time! Randy and I are committed to Marlborough’s future.”

Hill sisters

The Hills will definitely be on campus again soon; their granddaughters Madeleine (class of ’21) and Alana (class of ’24) are there now (pictured above right with Jaclyn and Randy). “It’s just such a unique and special place,” Jaclyn says. “There’s no question Marlborough’s core values and culture takes girls to the top.”
