Nancy Omohundro Long '54

Nancy Long SmilingMarlborough School received a gift in excess of $2 million from the estate of Nancy Omohundro Long '54 to the Leadership in Learning Campaign. Representing the largest estate gift from an alumna in school history, Ms. Long designated her bequest as an endowment fund to support financial aid for qualified students as well as the Teaching Fund to enhance faculty compensation.

Ms. Long was a loyal alumna as well as a dedicated employee of Marlborough School. She served as a member of Alumnae Council and was an enthusiastic supporter throughout her lifetime of Angel Project, the Marlborough Alumnae Association's program that supplements financial aid. For 22 years, Ms. Long served with distinction as Assistant to the Head of School, where she shared her love of the school with many students, parents, employees, alumnae, and members of the Board of Trustees on a daily basis.

"Nancy Long was an extraordinary alumna, colleague, and friend to many members of the Marlborough community. We miss her independent and indomitable spirit, and we are humbled by her remarkable gift to the school," said Barbara Wagner, Head of School. "Ms. Long loved Marlborough. It is inspiring to know that her generous bequest establishing the Nancy Long '54 Endowed Fund will enrich the lives of our faculty and students in perpetuity."
